What is Heliobios?
Heliobios is a wellness app that correlates your personal health and biometric trends with current and forecast space weather conditions — geomagnetic activity, solar wind, cosmic rays, and related drivers. The App uses your Apple Health and (optionally) Oura Ring data, processes it on your device into derived wellness scores, and shows you how those scores track against the space weather environment.
Heliobios is a wellness app, not a medical device. It does not diagnose or treat any condition.
How does Heliobios use my health data?
- All raw HealthKit and Oura values are read on your device only.
- An on-device scoring engine converts those raw values into derived 0–100 wellness scores (sleep, mood, energy, focus, heart, breathing, body temperature, blood oxygen).
- Only the derived scores and statistical summaries are transmitted to our backend for sync, forecast, and personalization.
- Raw biometric values never leave your iPhone.

How do I connect my Oura Ring?
- Open Heliobios → Settings → Connected Apps
- Tap Connect Oura
- You’ll be redirected to Oura to authorize Heliobios; tap Allow
- Oura sync runs automatically in the background; the first sync may take 30–60 seconds depending on history depth
Already have an Oura account? Make sure you sign into the correct one when prompted. If the wrong account is connected, tap Disconnect Oura in Settings and reconnect.
My morning sleep summary notification didn’t arrive — why?
Morning briefings fire when:
- Your wearable (Oura or HealthKit) reports a real sleep session (≥4 hours)
- The session arrived in the last 90 minutes
- We haven’t already sent you a morning brief today
If your sleep was shorter than 4 hours, the brief is suppressed (we treat short sessions as “ring off” rather than reliable data).
If you woke before your wearable finished syncing the session, the brief may be delayed until the data arrives.
If you just installed Heliobios, briefs require at least a few days of data to compute reliable forecasts. Earlier briefs use cold-start defaults.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by Heliobios:
- Open the iOS Settings app
- Tap [Your Name] at the top
- Tap Subscriptions
- Tap Heliobios → Cancel Subscription
You will keep access through the end of the current billing period.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by Heliobios:
- Visit https://reportaproblem.apple.com
- Sign in with your Apple ID
- Find the Heliobios charge and request a refund
We do not have the ability to issue refunds directly.
How do I delete my account?
You have three options:
- In-app: Settings → Account → Delete Account
- Web: visit https://heliobios.com/account-delete
- Email: privacy@heliobios.com
All server-side data is deleted within 30 days. On-device data is wiped immediately when you confirm deletion in the App.
What does “SLL” mean?
SLL stands for Solar Load Level — Heliobios’s proprietary composite signal that represents how energetic the space-weather environment is on a given day. It rolls together the geomagnetic, solar-wind, and radiation drivers most relevant to human physiology into a single 0–10 scale.
In the app, SLL is mapped to six bands shown alongside the number: Quiet, Mild, Moderate, Storm, Severe, and Extreme.
The specific composition, weighting, and calibration of SLL is proprietary to MALENTI LLC. It’s the signal Heliobios runs against your personal biometric history to compute your daily wellness scores and forecast.
What does my Sleep Liability score mean?
The Sleep Score is a 0–100 measure of how well-rested you are this morning, computed from your sleep stages, duration, and continuity over the prior night, normalized against your personal baseline.
- 80–100 Strong
- 60–79 Moderate
- 42–59 Mild
- 0–41 Severe
The score updates after your wearable finishes syncing the night’s sleep session.
Why is my score “predicted” or “imputed”?
If your wearable didn’t capture a complete sleep session — for example, you took your ring off or your watch ran out of battery — Heliobios uses your personal patterns plus today’s space weather to estimate what your scores would likely be. These estimates are labeled “predicted” or “imputed” in the App.
Once your wearable resumes capturing data, scores switch back to your real measurements.
Can I use Heliobios without a wearable?
Yes — manual mode is available. You can log subjective ratings (mood, energy, focus, sleep quality on 1–5 scales) in the App, and the engine will compute correlations with space weather based on those ratings. Manual mode produces lower-confidence personalization than full wearable data, but it is still useful for tracking patterns.
My push notifications stopped arriving
- Check iOS Settings → Heliobios → Notifications — make sure they are enabled
- Check Heliobios → Settings → Notifications — make sure the specific channels you want (morning, bedtime, storm alerts) are enabled
- Check iOS Settings → Heliobios → Background App Refresh — should be on
- If you recently switched accounts, sign out and back in to refresh your push token registration
If notifications still don’t arrive, email support@heliobios.com with:
- Your account email (or a partial email — first 3 characters + domain is enough)
- Approximately when notifications stopped
- Whether you recently changed devices or signed out
How do I file a bug report?
Open the App → Settings → Send Bug Report. The bug report includes the last few minutes of debug logs (with biometric values masked) and a snapshot of your app state. We use this to diagnose the issue. You can also email support@heliobios.com with a description.
How do I export my data?
Email privacy@heliobios.com with the subject “Data Export Request” from the email address associated with your account. We will provide a JSON export of your server-side data (wellness scores, sensitivity profile, preferences, daily logs) within 30 days, in compliance with GDPR / CCPA portability rights.
Note that your raw HealthKit and Oura biometric data is not stored on our servers — it lives on your device (HealthKit) or in your Oura account. Use Apple’s Health app or Oura’s app to export raw biometric data.
I have a security concern
Email security@heliobios.com with details. We take all security reports seriously and respond within 48 hours. Please do not publicly disclose the issue until we have had a reasonable opportunity to investigate and fix it.
